The Backbone of the AquaTerra System – the AquaTerra GridSpine.

AquaTerra’s patent pending GridSpine is one innovation behind the AquaTerra System.

This simple innovation allows geogrid reinforcements to be easily connected to sheet piling.  GridSpines are inserted between sheet piles based on certain engineering criteria. The spines are then drilled (using a cordless drill) based on the distance between grid courses (for example, every two feet up the height of the wall).  Extremely stiff composite rods are then inserted through the holes and the reinforcements are attached to the rods using a variety of methods.
