United States Patent & Trademark Office Issues Northstar Patent on New Sheet Pile Profile.

Northstar Vinyl Products, LLC has received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). According to the Notice, the USPTO has allowed all 26 claims included in a patent application filed last year to protect the inventive qualities of the 24" (width) Northstar Widebody profiles.

The issuance of the patent will allow Northstar and its customers to enjoy the exclusive use of substantial new improvements to vinyl sheet piling.

"The 24 inch width is not new. For years, manufacturers in the industry have either been pairing 12 inch wide panels or recommending that their customers pair panels before driving them. This patent covers other unique features like the balanced symetry and design of the panel and the structural corrugation which can also accommodate a reinforcing member that provides additional stiffness to the panel", said Jeff Moreau, Northstar President. "The fact is, this patent will cover any panel with similar qualities, regardless of their width."

"We are very pleased that the USPTO has approved our patent application. This application is one of several that are currently pending inside of the USPTO and we hope to see other similar successes this year", said Moreau.
